Just a quick update for those asking about the latest Reemus game...

The good news is Chapter 2 is almost done! The bad news is it took me forever! Trying out new puzzles and pushing the animation and character interaction seemed like a great idea at the time, but it really doubled my workload, destroying all hopes of hitting my October release date.

I got a little too ambitious I guess. Hopefully the extra effort makes for a better game experience, but in reality I have no idea what people will respond to. It's all a big experiment in game design for me.

If anyone would like to help me beta test and debug it, just go to www.zeebarf.com and join the mailing list. Once I get it to a place that I like, I'll put it out to my mailing list to test before I launch it on NG. That way the version I put on here will be bug free and polished...well in theory anyway :)

Thanks for being patient!

I would just like to say thanks to everyone for all the words of encouragement and criticisms. They all help me work towards making something even bigger and better.

It's sometimes hard to know what direction to go next, if you read through the reviews it seems like each one contradicts the next. It's too easy, it's too hard. Gameplay is boring, gameplay rules. So I'm putting it out there. Other than adding in voices, what other game improvements would you like to see in the next chapter?

Do you like the simple point and click gameplay? Or would you rather see it pushed more towards the classic adventure games with inventory and such?

This series is an experiment for me, a training ground to learn what goes into making the perfect adventure/puzzle game. I'm still a ways off, but I'm slowly learning!

I have my own checklist for Chapter 2, but I'd love to hear yours.

Any feedback is welcome. Thanks again

Z

I've gotten some emails asking if I'm working on a new game. So I thought I'd let everyone know that I've been slowly toiling away at The Several Journeys of Reemus - Chapter 1.

I've taken all your kudos and criticisms into account and I think you'll like where its gone.

If all goes according to plan it should be ready by the end of the month. Keep your fingers crossed!

Reemus on his way...

Thanks to everyone who viewed and commented on the THE VISITOR. It was my first real attempt at making a game and it turned out better than I imagined. The great response has inspired me to resume working on a project I actually I started before the Visitor. I don't want to reveal too much, but I promise it'll be longer and more interactive.

For all those that asked, yes I'll do a sequel to the Visitor. I think I barely scratched the surface of where it could go.

And to everyone who gave me 0/10 because you couldn't figure it out. Isn't that the point of a game? To force you to figure things out? Lame!

Alright back to the drawing tablet!
